Merche Romero

Merche Romero (b.1976) is a Portuguese model and TV Presenter.

She is of Spanish and Portuguese descent, was born in Andorra and currently lives and works in Portugal.

With a background in tourism, Merche was the face of numerous advertising campaigns and fashion catalogs: GQ, Maxmen, FHM, Vodafone, Modalfa, Dupont, etc..

She debut as a TV presenter in 2002, with the " Metro à Superfície" on NTV. She then moved to RTP, featuring daily, since 2003, "Portugal no Coração" along with José Carlos Malato. She also worked in other productions such as "Praça da Alegria" (2003), "Uma Boa Aposta para a Santa Casa da Misericórdia" (2004) and "Noites de Verão" (2005) with Pedro Miguel Ramos. Merche also presented in 2003, ModaLisboa, the biggest fashion event in Portugal.

Merche was linked to Cristiano Ronaldo. Although various photos were published of Cristiano Ronaldo and Merche Romero together on holiday and at various events, Cristiano refused to speak of his girlfriend. But Cristiano never explicitly confirmed nor denied the relationship. On September 20, 2006, Merche announced the end of their relationship, while being interviewed for the Portuguese television show Só Visto!: "Cristiano and myself are no longer together."
